A couple of android apps which are worth to be tested

TU Me

Another free IM and video call app

There are already plenty of different options available to you if you want to send free messages to your friends.

Most of them are already well established, and there's usually a reason that unknown ones are unknown. The latest kid on the block, TU Me, is certainly a looker, with a neat user interface that's remarkably simple to navigate, and lovely to look at. There's certainly plenty of functionality here, and the way it collates different types of messages.

WinZip

A quick way to unpack ZIP files

Unzipping files on your Android device isn't always the easiest of tasks. In fact, a lot of mail services won't even let you download ZIP files because they might contain harmful material. While WinZip can't get around that particular obstacle, it at least makes the unzipping of things you can get at an awful lot easier.

With a simple Ul that lays everything out like a file manager, accessing your files couldn't be easier. From there, you can copy the information from the ZIP and paste it into another app, or attach it to an email. The app also lets you access encrypted ZIP files, allowing you to read sensitive information on the go. WinZip isn't a perfect solution, and experienced users might want more from their unzipping app, but it's still an incredibly useful tool.

Rounds

Keep track of scores with this simple app

Rings seem to be all the rage this month, with plenty of apps sporting circular methods for keeping track or setting numbers.

Rounds runs with that idea and creates a simple way of tracking scores in games. You set the players, then press their name and swing the circle around to add or subtract points from their score. You can change rounds, alter scores with ease, and even save old games in case you ever fancy a rematch.

Simple and elegant, with a well-designed Ul and a colour scheme that always makes it clear who's who - and more importantly who's in the lead. So if you're often squabbling with your friends about who’s winning your golf games, or how many points ahead people are in cards, this is a perfect solution, and should hopefully bypass the otherwise inevitable arguments and fights.

Anti-Theft Alarm

Set off an alert when your phone is picked up

If you’re downloading an app to make your phone secure, the one thing you don't want it to do is install things without asking. Unfortunately, that's exactly what Anti-Theft Alarm does, plopping a search shortcut onto your homescreen that you didn't ask for and weren't told about. It's a shame, because the app itself is a pretty decent piece of kit. You tap a button and the next time someone picks up your phone it sets off a wailing siren and some flashing lights. It's not subtle, but if someone's stealing your phone you don't really want subtle, you want something that you're going to notice. While it's useful, it's difficult to recommend any app that adds shortcuts or applications to your Android device without asking, even more so when it's an app that's supposed to make things more secure.
